Dogberry & Finch Books opened in August 2019, Okehampton's first independent bookshop in 30 years.

All our new stock is hand-picked, ever-changing and carefully curated, everything from philosophy to natural history, classics to the best in fiction. We have a dedicated section for children and young people, and also feature books and maps relating to Dartmoor and our local area.

We showcase local artists, displaying regular art exhibitions in the bookshop. An official stockist for cards and art prints by illustrator Chris Dunn, we also stock jigsaws, stationery, book-related gifts, cards & gift wrap.

Browsers are always welcome. Or we’re on hand if needed to advise, track down that long-lost book or recommend the perfect read for you. Anything in print that we don’t stock can usually be ordered for next day delivery or collection.
