Okehampton Rambling Club

Okehampton Rambling Club members meet every Sunday morning outside the post office in George Street ready to leave for our walk at 9.30am.  We share cars where possible although a seat cannot be guaranteed. You are welcome to turn up at the post office to join a walk although if you need a lift to the walk start we suggest you contact our secretary Chris beforehand to see if that may be possible.   Sometimes we walk locally and cars are not needed.   Our walks programme can be found on our Facebook page, Okehampton Rambling Club, also on www.walkinginengland.co.uk   We walk on the moor, at the coast and in the countryside and our walks are generally between 7 – 9 miles.   You should be suitably dressed for all conditions including wearing sturdy footwear and carrying wet weather gear where appropriate.  We recommend you bring refreshments including drinks and a packed lunch.  We enjoy the congenial company of friends while we walk and appreciate the flora and fauna, local history and industrial archaeology which we may encounter on our walks.   We also have a social programme including short walking holidays.
