My-Way Support CiC are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our teams in full- and part-time capacities to support adults with complex needs, to include Autism and mental health challenges .
This role involves providing essential assistance and guidance to adults, to help them achieve their personal development goals. The ideal candidate will be passionate about person centred care and have a strong commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you support. We have various full time and part time opportunities in Okehampton, Inwardleigh and Thorndon Cross. The working pattern covers Monday to Friday, alternate weekends, waking nights and sleep-ins.
Support Worker Responsibilities:
• Meeting and working directly with people to agree and provide support with their practical and emotional needs.
• Designing and contributing to support plans that best suit the individuals' needs, including risk management and enablement.
• Providing emotional support by talking to people about their needs and listening to their concerns.
• Assisting with domestic tasks including shopping, cooking, cleaning, and washing.
• Ensuring the healthcare needs of each person are met appropriately.
• Helping people to complete their paperwork and manage their individual finances.
• Helping people to participate in leisure activities.
• Communicating frequently with the person to be able to identify their needs and check what is working / not working.
• Making sure that medical and other appointments are made and supporting people to attend.
• Being responsible for the well-being and safety of people supported.
• Supporting people with managing their medication.
Skills
• Experience or interest in supporting vulnerable individuals
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact
• Organised with good time management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and environments
Full driving licence and own transport is required; business insurance is preferred but not essential

• Waking Nights (10pm to 8am) £15.53 per hour
• Early & Late Shifts (8am to 3pm / 3pm to 10pm) £13.92 per hour
• Sleep-ins (10pm to 8am) £54.00 per shift
