The Fountain Inn & Riverside Restaurant

The Fountain has just undertaken a major refurbishment, retaining all of its old charm and providing a warm welcome for both locals and visitors. We have a fabulous restaurant, offering hearty home-made fresh pub classics at affordable prices including locally sourced steaks, mussels and fresh fish as well as vegan and gluten free options. A major feature will be the Sunday carvery together with all the trimmings.

We have a new terrace and fantastic riverside beer garden to enjoy some Al Fresco dining and drinking.

The two bars and restaurant feature open fires, creating a cosy feel during the winter.

The pub’s six letting rooms have been refurbished with new furniture, carpets and brand new en-suite bathrooms added.

We welcome dogs in our pub and also dogs in our letting rooms but it must be prior arrangement.

Okehampton is a great place for the outdoor enthusiast.

Known as the walking centre of Devon, visitors can discover the wild side of Dartmoor or explore forgotten villages on foot or by bike. Then there’s riding, swimming, fishing and golf opportunites aplenty as well. For the less active there is a Victorian shopping arcade, a museum, a lovely park for picnics and the second oldest Norman Castle in the county. To the north of the town are Dartmoor’s two highest peaks; whilst to the south lies the National Trust gorge at Lydford – a picturesque
village with its Whitelady waterfall.
